Congratulations Daisy! Daisy knew she had seen this statue around somewhere and took off with her owner not even 2 hours after the challenge was set and posed exactly where Leinie had.
So where was Leinie? Police Memorial Park is located adjacent to the Henrico County administration offices and Parham road. You can actually see the Memorial from Parham road. There are some paths and walking areas around the park. We love the dog that is in the statue and did you notice that the Policeman has a ball in his left hand?
Follow Me Dog Training LLC really enjoys what this Memorial park stands for and honors fallen policemen and K9’s by encouraging people to go check it out! It is a memorial park though, so be respectful and pick up after your dog, don’t let them walk on the memorial plaques, and say a little prayer for the men in blue that help protect us.
Did you know that the Henrico County Police Department is celebrating it’s 75th anniversary this year? On April 25, 2009 they will be holding a Family Day & Open House at their training center from 10am-3pm. It is a free event and gives everyone the chance to check out what the Henrico County Police Department does for us! Make sure you go see the K9 Unit at the out door display and watch a demo. Also be sure to check in with the Animal Protection Unit, they’ll be in and out all day!
Follow Me Dog Training LLC also wants to congratulate Woody, Emme, and Stella for taking part in the challenge. I loved the pictures! Look for the next “Where’s Leinie?” on 1 March 2009!

Have a safe and happy Valentine’s Day!!!
Thinking of celebrating your Valentine’s day with your dog? Here are some helpful ideas of what to do for your sweetheart of a dog:
- Take them for a long walk in a park you have never been to.
- Open a can of pink tennis balls and go have fun!
- Treat your dog to a spa day; have them bathed, nails cut, groomed and pampered by you or a groomer you love.
- Take them to visit and play with one of your dog friends.
- Set up an appointment with your vet for an annual heartworm check. Keep your dog’s heart healthy!
- Call a trainer and help your dog communicate better with the family.
- Give your dog a massage!
- Tell your dog you will treat them with the same kind of respect and manners that they do you.
- Hug your dogs and love them everyday, not just on Valentines Day!

Follow Me Dog Training LLC wants to encourage all the dog owners in the Richmond, Virginia area to take your dogs exploring.
So we propose a challenge called WHERE’S LEINIE?
Every month Leinie, of Follow Me Dog Training LLC, will go to a different location around the Richmond Virginia area. We love exploring and Leinie loves having his picture taken!
So your challenge is to find where Leinie is posing, pose your dog in the same spot or as close to it as the dog physically can get, and take their picture. Send the picture and the location to renee@followmedogtraining.com. Make sure your subject line says “Where’s Leinie?”
The first picture I receive that has your dog in the correct location will win a prize from Follow Me Dog Training LLC and the picture will be posted alongside Leinie’s on our blog. (Bonus points if your dog can be safely off leash! Please don’t break any laws and keep your dog’s safe!)
Now go exploring with your dog!

- Where’s Leinie? February 2009
The picture for the current month will always be posted on our Where’s Leinie? page. We will post a new picture the beginning of each month, as a blog post, to remind people to go exploring with Leinie and I.
Go out and explore our amazing city.
Leinie and I have been having fun checking out new places! We think more responsible dog owners should take advantage of the sites. Please keep your dog safe and clean up after them, we don’t want to live in a city where dogs aren’t allowed!
