A group of Bird dogs!

Last Saturday we had a group class at Robious Landing park. We had a great time working with all the distractions. The Virginia Boat Club were out there having a rowing meet, people were cooking out and the smell of hamburgers on the grill was at times overwhelming…so there was alot going on. Fun fact of this group class was that we had in attendance, 6 different bird dogs….

On the log from left to right

Group class is open to Follow Me Dog Training LLC clients that have completed three private lessons in the Successful Living program. Want more information, contact Follow Me Dog Training LLC for a free evaluation with your dog!

Leinie’s in Carytown!

Where's Leinie? April 2009

Where’s Leinie? April 2009 had a great turn out of pictures! Leinie was sitting with the statue at the beginning of Carytown, in front of the Chasen Gallery.  Thanks to everyone who participated! Buddy was the winner, as his picture was recieved first. I’m so proud of all the Follow Me Dog Training LLC for taking on this challenge. The traffic and crazy statue made it difficult for some of the dogs to want to have their picture taken. Just because everyone did so fantastic, I’m posting a bunch of the pictures I recieved.

A group of dogs…

We had a great group class this past weekend at Robious Landing Park. Bandit, Melvin, Blaze, Spenser, Lucy, Emily and Kosmo showed off everything they learned from Follow Me Dog Training LLC. They were the best behaved dogs in the park and although I asked Melvin to go steal me a hamburger from one of the picnickers…he didn’t. There were people, dogs, boaters, squirrels, and the river acting as great distraction. Lucy made a break for the river just once, but soon stepped in line and won her owner a Follow Me Dog Training LLCt-shirt for accomplishing a tough confidence building obstacle…she redeemed herself in our eyes!

Our group class is structured for those dogs that are currently enrolled in or have finished the Successful Living program. We cover all sorts of things in group class like: more advanced obedience skills, fun games, confidence building obstacles, distraction and distance work…or just a nice walk in the park. It is a great way to keep up with the skills you have learned with your dog and socialize with other well mannered dogs.

If you are interested in having a well behaved dog you can take anywhere, contact Follow Me Dog Training LLC for a free evaluation. We train dogs and their owners all over the Richmond Virginia area!

Happy Easter!!!

Leinie laid a trap for the Easter Bunny last night. And oddly enough he got a letter form the famous rabbit this morning. Check out what he had to say on Leinie’s blog: http://tapintoleinie.wordpress.com

Easter isn’t just about the elusive rabbit, or biting the ears off a chocolate bunny, or having a sugar rush from all the Peeps and Jelly Beans…..It is important in many different ways to many different people!

Celebrate with your dog. Enjoy the beautiful day! Go to Crump Park and see some baby sheep, take a walk in the woods and appreciate nature and the new beginnings of Spring. Happy spring and Happy Easter!

Meet Falcon!

This beautiful 8 month old German Shepherd Dog is Falcon. He is doing a Board and Train program with Follow Me Dog Training LLC. Some of you have had a chance to meet him at your lessons or at group class.

Here he is learning place with Leinie and Black Jack.

He practiced ‘place’ at the park with Kosmo…who showed him a thing or two about confidence and distance recalls!

He was a big distraction for Blaze.

He’s learning that the better behaved he is, the more adventures he has with Follow Me Dog Training LLC. We were out at a shopping center yesterday working on duration and distraction and a nice officer from the Henrico County Police Dept. pulled up and had a conversation with Falcon and I. He had seen us working at the park and was proud of how well Falcon was doing. Especially when he learned how young Falcon is. Needless to say, after working hard and playing hard with his new friends, he sleeps well at night!
